I’m sending out a big thank you to Community Natural Foods (www.communitynaturalfoods.com) for hosting my Naturopathic Family Health class last Thursday. There was a great turn-out with many people eager to learn ways to enhance nutrition and help support themselves and their families through stress and flu/cold season. We looked at easy ways to make healthy, balanced meals and snacks for the family. I really tried to focus on balancing blood sugar to help parents and kids stay concentrated and energized through the day and to also combat those highs and lows we can experience if blood sugar is off.
We then looked at how stress affects the body and how to support the body during stress. I gave lots of tips on adrenal, liver, thyroid support and different ways to change your perception of and reaction to stress. Then we ended off, of course, looking at how to best support the immune system- especially now with flu and cold season upon us!
Thanks to all who attended - it was a huge success!
